THIRTY THREE AVENUE documents my travels, photographs and musings. “33″ refers to the age I started my own company and “Avenue” alludes to Avenue Montaigne, one of my favorite places for a stroll in Paris. Travelling is my deepest passion. Whether staying in a hostel and having a simple meal or spending the night in a five-star hotel and dining in a gourmet restaurant, I always learn something new. As with education, the experience is personal and everlasting unlike, let’s say, with a material good … though I do love my bags and shoes too!
So far, I’ve been to 49 countries and territories and more than 340 cities — and they are not stopovers! — including living in six countries in four continents (Brazil, France, the Philippines, Spain, Switzerland and the USA). Together with my three-year-old daughter (my husband prefers the comfort of our tiny abode), I hope to revisit these places, add new ones and, most importantly, instill in her the joy of travelling and learning, just as my parents did. Sometimes, I also treat myself to sporadic lone adventures for some much-needed mommy time off.
Photography is a hobby I’d like to further pursue. Though still a novice, I’m learning with every picture I take. So I’ll always accompany my musings and travelogues with images … my perspective of a certain place and my thoughts behind the picture.
