Carven’s “Garden of Earthly Delights”

If there is one fashion item that is a MUST HAVE for me this season, it’s Carven’s “Garden of Earthly Delights” skirt. Inspired by Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch, this modern interpretation of a Renaissance print is the perfect statement skirt. Rarely has a piece of clothing got me on a worldwide search: local brick and mortar stores, online boutiques, retailers in Europe, and my global network of fashionista friends on the lookout. But this elusive masterpiece is sold out everywhere or some retailers just didn’t order it, too bold maybe? But if there’s a will, there’s a way — all the way from Down Under. I found an official Carven stockist in Australia, Parlour X — apparently one of the hottest boutiques over there selling the latest in designer clothing — posting their inventory on, guess what? Instagram! Ah, gotta love social media. One e-mail contact and a quick reply informed me of the last remaining piece in my size. A week later, I received my skirt and it’s absolutely GORGEOUS!!! The folks over at Parlour X were also very friendly and responsive to my needs. I’ll definitely shop with them again. Personally, I’ll style the skirt with a simple top in either black or white, black wool tights and black brogues or booties. Maybe even burgundy wedges for a touch of color. But here are several inspirations from the runway and other bloggers. Enjoy!
