You’d think, maybe even a gangster movie. But no! This was taken inside Paul, a French boulangerie and pâtisserie. It’s simply the customer paying the waitress at the cash register. I took this quick snapshot while waiting for our food, a hearty 150-gram hamburger with salad on the side. I absolutely love this photo — the customer’s dark clothes, leather jacket, hat and cigarette in contrast to the waitress’ white uniform.
Well, don’t expect any pictures of the food. I’m not capable of getting decent images due to the 0.7 meter focusing distance my lens requires, and I’m not standing up! Hence, I photograph the ambiance.
Paul — ♥♥♥♥
This family-owned bakery has been making bread since 1889. Paul is everywhere in France with affiliates in 24 countries. While I like their sandwiches, don’t ever buy a demi (half) baguette. It’s so thin you barely have space for butter and confiture.

Until my next post … take care!

Sabine: Thank you! This image is also one of my favorites. The mood was just perfect and you’d never think it was taken inside a bakery.
